Like Momma Used to Say, "EAT YOUR VEGGIES!"

We don't have any vegetable jokes yet, so if you do lettuce know!

Why did the tomato turn red? Because it saw a salad dressing!

Let's have a garden party - Lettuce Turnip the Beet!

Eat your vegetables cause you don't want to end up being a vegetable!

Seriously, the last one was kinda scary, right? Those veggie jokes are funny, but lacking nutrients is not a laughing matter.  Our moms used to tell us to eat our veggies when we were young, but we hated it.  It's sad that we hated something that's so good to our bodies.  Growing up, my sister and I were forced to eat veggies because my mom said it has so many benefits.  Later on in life, I realized, hey it's not so bad at all.  In fact it can help us fight sickness in so many ways.

In our crazy highly stressful everyday life, with our deadlines to beat, fast/busy paced life, lack of exercise and a million other things to do, sometimes we miss out on eating the right stuff.  It is also very easy to resort to fast, unhealthy food which can cause all sorts of illness and diseases.  Good thing though, that there are products out there that can help you have life-sustaining complete food.  I had the chance to try out Easy Pha-Max Wheatgrass when I attended the Blogapalooza at SM Aura.

Did you know that 1 sachet of Easy Pha-max Wheatgrass equals 10 kilos of vegetables?  Just one sachet of Easy Pha-Max Wheatgrass contains 17 amino acids, 13 vitamins, 10 alkaline minerals, detoxifying fiber, chlorophyll for healthy blood and more than 100 types of enzymes.  It is a super food.  Isn't that amazing?

Easy Pha-ma Wheatgrass leaves and roots help prevent:
- Highblood
- Diabetes
- Anemia
- Cancer - something that's good for me, since I'm on the road to recovery
- Body odor
- Losing weight
- Inflammatory_disease
- Constipation
- Wound healing
- Liver disorder
- Skin health
- and a whole lot more

I was able to take home a sample sachet of Wheatgrass Honey and got so excited to try it out.

I've read from their website that you can mix your wheatgrass with your favorite juices to come up with smoothies and not just drinks but you can come up with salad dressings, dips, pulvoron and a whole lot more.  For recipes, you can check out Wheatgrass Recipes.

Here's my version

Wheatgrass Honey with pineapple orange juice

So healthy and so good!  I can almost hear my mom, "Eat your veggies!" Yes mom, bottoms up 'coz I'm cool as a cucumber wheatgrass!

OOTD: Max or Caroline

Christmas is definitely in the air at SM Aura, just want to share, hehe!

Here's what I wore at the Blogapalooza event inspired by one of my favorite shows - 2 Broke Girls.

My inspiration for that day was Caroline Channing - rich girl turned poor who has a very sunny/positive disposition.  Caroline's style leans more towards the classy, clean, prim and proper outfits and always, always includes her statement necklace of good luck pearls.

Here's my OOTD channeling Caroline Channing (try saying that 4 times, haha)

Lacy Peplum Top - Forever21
Skinny Jeans - Unbranded
Bag - Michael Kors
Solemate flats
Necklace - Forever21

Here's a closer look at my Caroline inspired necklace -

I hope you get to watch 2 Broke Girls and try and see if you're either tough/streetsmart Max or sunny and sweet Caroline.

Bloggers Event - What's (not) In My Bag and Blogapalooza loot

The week before the Blogapalooza event was so hectic.  I was a busy bee, we had a lot of files to work on because there will be a holiday coming up (yey for Thanksgiving!!) - not that I'm complaining.  I was in a rush that Saturday so to speak as it was already getting late, and I wouldn't want to bail out.  I mean come on!  It would be my first ever blogger event plus the fact that I was ready to meet blogger friends out there.  I was in a hurry to prepare my stuff.

So here's what's in my bag that day -

My bag for that day, mom gave it to me as a gift, she spoils me so.

Really now, different pouches for other stuff - wow so organized and a pink shawl in case it gets chilly

Clinique pouch #1 - contains my camera, batteries, home-made cards

Clinique pouch #2 - kikay girly stuff

Alcohol in a spray bottle, perfume, mints, fone (and another jurassic nokia phone), tissues/wipes, lip gloss and powder, oh I also brought my eyewear

I brought everything I need right? Ehhh- wrong! I forgot my wallet, had an uh-oh moment when I was about to order coffee!  Good thing though that Jellybean was in Makati to meet his friend.  Jellybean to the rescue.  My knight in shining armor!  He was not actually surprised as I often misplace my wallet.

Well, moving on, here are some of the goodies I got from the event,

Blogger pass

Thank you for the goodies!

P.s. Do you know where I found the missing wallet?  I left it by the water dispenser, haha I'm such a silly, silly goose! Sucks to be an old dinosaur!

Blogapalooza Experience and Fundate

I first saw the invite through blogs that I frequent.  I was hesitant to sign up at first, but I said, what the hey, it would be a chance to meet up with future sponsors (hint, hint) and also a chance to meet bloggers.  Last Saturday, off I went to SM Aura.  I was over myself and was so excited.  Before going there though, Christine agreed that we meet up.  I got there at 3:00 p.m.

So here's what happened in pictures -

Met Christine at the entrance/registration area.

And lookie here, why its Nathalie, Sally and of course Christine.

After going around, we have decided to get coffee and have a little chit-chat.  We sure had a lot of fun and it was nice knowing these lovely ladies on a more personal level.  They're so pretty, nice, bright, young, intelligent, warm, honest, delightful (oh, I'm running out of adjectives here) and so much more!  It surely made the event more interesting.  Until the next event ladies!

Thank you and good job Vince Golangco, Francis Simisim and Anton Diaz for coming up with an awesomesauce event!!!

P.s. To the lovely ladies, if you want to grab the pics you may do so, just don't forget to link back so I could also read your post, okie dokie!

Fruits

Native delicacies

And sweets, sweets, sweets

My cake, which I was able to take home

Now for my review . . .

LIKES:
- Birthday treat, celebrant gets a free meal just make a reservation.
- Those that made reservations, senior citizens and those who came in early are prioritized.
- Large selection of food, the pictures I took aren't even half of the spread, I guess.
- Staff are very polite.
- Food tastes good. I love the sushi, sashimi, grilled seafood, roast beef, potato chips, nachos and a whole lot more.
- For the drinks, you can ask them to make fruit shakes, no additional price.
- They make you wear a viking hat and sing birthday song and give you a cake which you can take home.  You can have your picture taken with their banner. - basta it's fun!
-Surprisingly, I didn't see a single house fly.

DISLIKES:
- They have their "bestsellers" like the carving station, grilling station and tempura, so expect a long line and wait before you can get your fill.
- They don't refill fast enough, can't blame them though as the resto is really filled with people.
- It is a big resto and can accomodate a lot of people, expect it to be a bit noisy.
- Some of the food are displayed without food sneeze guards, you know those glass-like/plastic shelves thingamajigs.

TIPS:
- If you plan on celebrating your birthday there, reserve at least two weeks, don't forget to bring your ID.  Oh, also come on time!
- Come with a full appetite.
- Head for the bestsellers first (tempura, grilling station, oysters, carving station) to avoid the long wait and lines.
-Scout or try to go around so you'll know where and what to get.

Overall, it was a good experience.

Was it worth it? I think so because we quite enjoyed it.
Will we come back? Yes, if they will have promos.

Until the next birthday celebration . . .

P.s. Please don't hate me for posting this at a time when we need to be thinking of others.  Don't think that I'm a selfish b*&@. I know our countrymen are going through tough times right now, but I am also doing my share as we all should.  Life must go on, I am celebrating life.  Living, loving and sharing!
