Sophie Martin Nudes

I finally received my order of lipsticks from Sophie Martin after a long time. I ordered mostly nude lipsticks, something you can use at work or school or even doing errands, something that doesn't scream "Look at Me", just a sweet/dainty girly look.

I got Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar and Mango Peach.  These are inexpensive at 79 pesos each, ordered through a Sophie Martin dealer.

Let's start with Velvet Nude.  I did a review of this before, but for swatch comparison, I will still include it here.

Velvet nude is a light brown-reddish shade.

Next is Caramel Sugar -

From its name, it sounds sweet right?

Caramel sugar is pale pink in color, and is the lightest amongst the three nudes.

Lastly, Mango Peach -

Mango Peach is peachy-corally in color.

All three, side by side.  I hope you can see the different shades, but I guess they all look the same in this lighting, sorry.  From L to R - Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar, Mango Peach.

No flash, again L to R Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar and Mango Peach

With flash Velvet Nude has hints of red, Caramel Sugar is the lightest and pinky while Mango Peach is corally.

- inexpensive at 79 pesos each, good for those who are on a budget
- safe for work/school colors, great for everyday wear
- stays on for 3 hours at most
- will flatter most skin tones

- there is this cloying chocolatey smell that annoys me
- you have to order from a dealer
- it settles in the fine lines of the lips so you have to moisturize and scrub lips first
- drying
- you have to swipe at least 3 times for the color to show

If I were to pick out of all the three shades, I like Mango Peach the most because it brightens the face.  I say this coral shade is perfect for summer, BUT again I hate the scent.  I feel dizzy with it, which is kind of off putting.  The shades are great because it can flatter most skin tones and good for those who are starting out with make ups, that is if you don't mind the scent.  Will I buy again?  Sorry, but no.

Happy 1st Blog Birthday and Ask the Diva - First Ever Q&A

Good day Dear Divas!

My blog just had her birthday last February 22.  Sorry dear blog for not updating you, but I am truly happy for having reached this far with my blogging.  I have met and have yet to meet great ladies (and gents) out there through my little space here.  I am so thankful for all of you my friends.  God bless you all!  Here's to more posts and good friendship AMEN!

With that, I had received an e-mail and she had a couple of questions for me.  It got me thinking, I might as well add another label - Ask the Diva.  You can ask me anything, and I will try my best to give honest and frank answers.  You can e-mail me at and I'll get back at you the soonest, promise!

Here goes:

From Charity - "Hi Kitty. I chanced upon your Love January 2014 post in your blog, and your wedding looks so princess-y.  I am a Filipina bride-to-be, currently working in Singapore.  I hope you could help me out with my wedding plans as I don't have a clue and don't know where to start.  The wedding will be in October of 2014.  We plan on coming home to look around and start the wedding preparation.  Thank you."

Okay Charity, first and foremost, thank you for reading my blog.  I love, love weddings because I always remember ours.  Jellybean and I were really hands on with it.  When we started our wedding preparations, I signed up at w@w and also at GirlTalk.  You can find all wedding-related things there.  It is where we found our suppliers.  Our wedding was in 2008, so I don't know if our suppliers are still around and how much they are charging now.

So let me share our suppliers just so you have an idea where to start:

It has been a long time, and I don't know if I forgot anything.  I also recall joining wedding fairs, you might want to attend those when you do come home, and also I bought a lot of magazines just to give me ideas.

Planning a wedding is really stressful that is - if you let it go over your head.  Just focus on the real essence of it and pray for guidance.  I hope I shed some light into your wedding preps.  Have fun, enjoy every moment, congratulations, best wishes Charity!

P.s.  I know I don't usually post my face here in my blog, but I will give you sneak peek into our wedding teaser.
